Python Developer-AWS

Position

Description:

We are looking for a skilled Python Developer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of applications and automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong Python programming expertise, experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), and a solid understanding of SQL, data modeling, and data analysis.
This position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days a week in any CGI Atlantic location:
Halifax, NS, Moncton or Fredericton, NB, Stratford, PE, or St. John's, NL.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python applications and automation scripts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems, improve workflows, and automate manual processes.
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also valued).
- Develop and optimize database queries, data models, and analytics workflows.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability through testing and best development practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application or data-related issues.
- Stay up to date with emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in Python and cloud development.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Strong experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, ECS, Glue, Terraform, IAM, and Cloud Watch (5+ years)
. Strong experience with AWS Lamda (5+ years)
.

Experience with developing RESTful APIs and backend microservices.
. Strong experience with Design, development, and deployment of scalable applications using Python on AWS ( 5+years)
.

Experience with data transformation through python and working with different data formats (xml, Json, etc.)
. Good Communication skills with experience of communicating with business during JAD sessions for requirement gathering, architecture discussions, etc.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $55,–$,. This role is an existing vacancy.
