We are currently seeking a Sr SAS Developer to join our team in Halifax
, Nova Scotia (CA-NS),
Canada (CA).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Seeking a highly skilled SAS Developer with strong Data Science capabilities to design, develop, and optimize data-driven solutions. This role combines advanced SAS programming with modern data science techniques to deliver actionable insights, predictive models, and robust analytics for business decision-making.
SAS Development:
Design, develop, and maintain SAS programs for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).Create and optimize SAS macros, stored processes, and automated workflows.Ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational standards.Data Science & Analytics:
Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics to solve business problems.Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and feature engineering for model development.Build and validate models using Python/R alongside SAS tools.Interpret and present insights through dashboards, reports, and visualizations.Data Management:
Work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources (structured and unstructured).Implement data quality checks and governance practices.Collaboration & Communication:
Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Document processes, models, and workflows for transparency and reproducibility.Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 8+ years of experience in the required role with Strong proficiency in SAS Base, SAS Macro, SAS SQL, and SAS Enterprise Guide.Minimum 8+ Hands-on experience with Python or R for data science tasks.Minimum 8+ years of Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical techniques, and predictive modeling.Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).Minimum 8+ years of Experience with large datasets, relational databases (SQL), and data warehousing concepts.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Minimum 8+ years
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Degree:
Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
Nice to Have; (But not a must):
Experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance analytics.Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).#LI-North America
