About the role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to join our innovative Salesforce Excellence Team. In this role, you will drive the strategic direction of our Salesforce ecosystem, shaping architecture and ensuring seamless integration across platforms for Customer and Expert personas. You’ll work closely with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, and Salesforce experts to design solutions that power a global CRM used by thousands of representatives worldwide.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Customer and Expert technical strategy for business-critical Salesforce solutions.

  • Drive and guide the team to deliver maintainable quality code following best standards and engineering practices, including documentation.

  • Work with Architects and Engineers to create Salesforce solutions with high levels of complexity, strategic business value, and make sure patterns are enforced and applied.

  • Ensure engineering design decisions incorporate considerations for technical debt, system design, stability, reliability, monitoring, security, observability, and alignment with business needs.

  • Articulate technical problems to non-technical internal and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct code reviews and oversee refactoring of complex Salesforce systems when necessary.

  • Make strategic trade-offs between achieving optimal solutions and managing technical debt, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategies for debt repayment.

  • Demonstrate expertise in resolving complex and unforeseen Salesforce-related issues under pressure, such as quickly debugging intricate production problems or leading the resolution of critical incidents.

  • Exhibit technical skills beyond coding by leading the design process for complex technical challenges within the team or broader organization, ensuring best practice.

  • Liaise with the Engineering teams helping to bring deeply technical solutions to life leveraging innovative Salesforce capabilities.

  • Qualifications and skills

    Essential

  • Knowledge and experience with multiple Salesforce Products (at least Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud) and Licenses across a variety of projects and products

  • Extensive experience developing Salesforce customizations and using OOTB functionality specialising in Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC), custom integrations, and executing data migrations

  • Knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and a front-end framework i.e React

    JS, Angular

    JS or VueJS

  • In-depth understanding of architectural and operational best practices with emphasis on Salesforce but not limited to.

  • Extensive experience with Salesforce SFDX project setup and available CI/CD automation (static code analysis tools, automated testing, Github, Git Hub Actions, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience of integrating with REST APIs and Event-based services

  • A strong passion for creating clean, maintainable & highly testable code and components
