Senior Structural Design Engineer

50,000 - 60,000 per annum (DOE)
Full-Time Halifax (HX2) or Billingham (TS23)

A leading structural steel specialist is seeking strong Senior Structural Design Engineer candidates to join their highly experienced design team. We are supporting them in identifying high-calibre professionals with a proven background in complex steel construction projects across multiple sectors.

The organisation has a long-standing reputation for delivering technically demanding structural steel projects throughout the UK. Their design team provides engineering, detailing and project support across:

• Rail

• Bridges

• Commercial & Industrial

• Nuclear

• Residential

• Large-scale Infrastructure

Only candidates with genuine experience in heavy structural steel within these sectors will be considered.

Senior Structural Design Engineers can expect to be involved in:

• Structural steel frame design, member design and connection design.

• Producing both manual and software-based engineering calculations.

• Working with industry-recognised software including Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer, Master series, S-Frame, Idea Statica and cold-rolled design software.

• Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and internal teams.

• Raising and resolving technical queries.

• Working within project budgets and adhering to internal QA procedures.

• Attending and contributing to project meetings.

• Supporting and mentoring graduate engineers as required.

To be considered, candidates should have:

• Minimum 10 years' experience in structural steelwork design.

• Strong knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.

• Previous experience working with a UK-based steelwork fabricator.

• A relevant degree in engineering (ideally working toward Incorporated or Chartered status).
