Production Planning Scheduler

Location:

Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire

Hours:

Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm, Friday 8:30am–2:30pm
(Additional hours may be required; up to 3 Saturdays per year for stock take)

An established manufacturing business within a global group is seeking an experienced Production Planning Scheduler to join its Supply Chain function at a growing UK site.

This role is critical in ensuring robust production and material planning, balancing demand and capacity, and delivering high levels of customer service through strong OTIF performance.

The Role

You will be responsible for end-to-end production planning and scheduling, working closely with Operations, Purchasing, Sales and Technical teams to ensure efficient material flow from supplier through to finished goods.

Key responsibilities include:

* Creating, managing and executing detailed production plans

* Working with Purchasing to ensure material availability and balanced stock levels

* Supporting forecasting and alignment with Sales & Operations Planning

* Monitoring demand vs capacity and identifying constraints

* Driving improvements in planning efficiency, automation and inventory control

* Supporting the implementation of planning tools and ERP (SAP)

* Working closely with Manufacturing to optimise production efficiency

* Ensuring compliance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards (ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001)

About You

* Proven experience in Production Planning / Scheduling

* Background in manufacturing (process or materials-based environments advantageous)

* Strong understanding of demand planning, capacity planning and inventory control

* Advanced Excel skills

* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

* Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally

* Proactive, driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
