Role DescriptionThis role reports to the Senior Accountant, and you will primarily be responsible for managing client relationships, identifying tax consulting opportunities, reviewing working paper files, corporate and personal tax returns.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing client relationships and ensuring financial deadlines are met effectively.
- Reviewing and assisting with bookkeeping for both HST and non-HST clients
- Preparing and reviewing financial and taxation documents such as: T1 General, T2 Income Tax Return, Financial Statements, NOA/Statement of Accounts.
- Preparing and filling of various financial documents such as T4/T4A/T5/T5018 Returns
- Reviewing and Filing Payroll, Payroll Remittance and WSIB
- Staying informed on relevant accounting regulations and tax laws, ensuring client compliance.
- Collaborating with internal teams to improve processes and deliver exceptional client service.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or working towards a CPA.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Case Ware, Profile, and Quick Books / Quick Books Online
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including Canadian tax laws and audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-first approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- May be required to work overtime during month end, quarter end and at year-end or due to operational demands
