, Department of Diagnostic Imaging, affiliated with McMaster University, Department of Medical Imaging, Faculty of Health Sciences, is seeking an Interventional radiologist to join its team of 25 sub-specialized Radiologists. This role requires a highly skilled individual with subspecialized training in all facets of Interventional Radiology (IR), with particular emphasis on dialysis-related interventions, arterial revascularization, venous interventions, complex embolization, and tumor ablation.
The successful candidate should be proficient in the full spectrum of IR procedures, including biopsies, drainages, and vascular access.
In addition to technical expertise, the candidate will provide clinical consultative services and longitudinal care for IR patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. They will be expected to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across a variety of specialized fields, including Thoracic Surgery, Head & Neck Surgery, Respirology, Nephrology, Hemodialysis, Renal Transplantation, Colorectal Surgery, Urology, Oncology, and Bariatric Surgery. Active participation in regularly scheduled multidisciplinary conferences is required.
The candidate must also be prepared to participate in a 1:4 acute on-call rotation for Interventional Radiology.

This is a full-time academic position at McMaster University, with academic rank commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Fellowship training is mandatory, and the successful candidate will be expected to promote clinical scholarship, engage in teaching, and foster mentorship for residents, fellows, and undergraduate students. A strong commitment to scholarly research and active participation in our residency and subspecialty fellowship programs is essential.

St. Joseph’s Healthcare is a multi-site (3) acute-care, 740 bed teaching hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and an affiliated teaching hospital of McMaster University, Faculty of Health Sciences. It operates as the Regional Referral Centre for Thoracic Surgery, Respirology, Head & Neck Surgery, Mental Health and Addictions, Nephrology and Renal Transplantation, Urology Oncology and Bariatric Surgery. They also have strong medical and surgical services including Lung Cancer Diagnostic Assessment program (LDAP) Esophageal Diagnostic Assessment program (EDAP), General Surgery, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, and Breast Surgical programs.
The Diagnostic Imaging Department has two fully equipped Angio suites including 1 new suite, 2 new fluoroscopy rooms, 3 CT scanners including CT fluoroscopy capability. We have 3 MRIs including two 1.5T MRI scanners, one 3T MRI scanner. A dedicated 3T Research MRI and PET/CT scanner are present in the St. Joseph’s Imaging Research Centre.
