Our office in Hamilton, ON, is looking for a Project Scheduler/Planner to join our team.

Summary of the Role

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Project Scheduler/Planner is responsible for working with Project Managers, Project Leads, and subcontractors to plan and organize work, develop and maintain detailed project execution schedules, and report status and progress to customers. While the role is primarily based out of the Hamilton, ON business location, some on-site work may be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain daily/weekly status reports from the necessary project leads.
  • Set-up and chair planning/schedule meetings.
  • Help coordinate and prepare work plans.
  • Document any installation issues as reported by project leads.
  • Arrange pre and post installation walk through with all stakeholders.
  • Report on the status of the project with the customer/client.
  • Develop and maintain the overall Primavera P6 project schedules.
  • Fully understand the project scope and budget, liaise with the owner on schedule related items.
  • Interface with the required staff to provide schedule updates and specific reports.
  • Integrate the necessary planning data (i.e. manpower loading, etc.) into the project schedule.
  • Provide feedback to the Project Manager on any changes made to the schedule to assist in identifying impact/risks.
  • Perform earned value analysis, cost analysis, scheduling, resource planning, variance reporting, and manpower loading.
Key Requirements, Experience And Skills
  • Community College Technologist/Technician Diploma (C.E.T.) would be an asset.
  • Professional Certification CCA Gold Seal Program would be an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a Related Technical Discipline would be an asset.
  • A minimum of two years of Primavera P6 experience in construction scheduling or equivalent combination of training and related construction scheduling experience.
  • Technical, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Previous construction site experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of scheduling, job costing and project tracking systems.
  • Ability to summarize data from a financial database.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
