Position: Certified CGSB Level 2 & level 3 inspector (VT, UT, MT) - Contract
Job Description SGS is looking to hire a Certified CGSB Level 2 Inspector (VT, UT, MT) as an independent contractor for a QA/QC assignment that will start in January 2026 and last one year.
Scope of work includes:
Review of workmanship on steel fabrication for conformance with project specifications and Review of fitting Dimensional ChecksVisual Examination - 100% of all welds.Ultrasonic Test Method - 100% of all complete penetration welds.Magnetic Particle Test Method – 100% of all filet welds.Inspection of Bolts of Slip-Critical and not slip critical or pre-tensioned connectionsQualifications
Must be a Certified CGSB Level 2 Inspector (VT, UT and MT).Minimum of 5 years of shop inspection experience (vendor surveillance).Ideal candidate would have steel structure inspection experience.Detail oriented and well organizedStrong analytical and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team, as well as independentlyProven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.Work schedule:
8 hours a day, starting in January 2026 for at least a year.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.The contractor will need to provide their own equipement.The contractor needs to be an independent contractor (IC)
