A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supported Housing Officer to join a Housing Association in Essex, delivering a responsive, resident-focused service within a sheltered housing environment.
THE ROLE
As a Supported Housing Officer, you will be responsible for managing a sheltered housing scheme, acting as the main point of contact for residents and ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and tenancy sustainment.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the day-to-day running of a sheltered housing scheme
Carrying out regular welfare checks and monitoring resident wellbeing
Supporting residents to sustain their tenancies, including advice and early intervention
Managing rent arrears, income collection, and tenancy-related queries
Conducting property inspections, health and safety checks, and monitoring communal areas
Maintaining accurate records, case notes, and housing management systems
Working in partnership with external agencies and organising resident activities to promote engagement and wellbeing
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a supported housing, sheltered housing, social care, or social housing environment and be confident delivering a customer-focused service to residents with support needs. You will also demonstrate:
Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable, and professional manner
Clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal communication skills
The ability to apply relevant housing legislation, policies, and best practice
Effective IT skills, including basic MS Office competency
Numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2
A social care or similar qualification relevant to the customer group (desirable)
THE CONTRACT
WORKING HOURS:
Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
LENGTH OF
CONTRACT:
3 Month Contract, Temporary
RATE:
The pay for the role is £20.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £17.16 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
