Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Design Engineer specializing in Pipe Thermal Expansion Control. The role is based in Harrogate and involves designing and analyzing piping systems to manage thermal expansion and contraction. Day-to-day tasks include conducting preliminary pipe stress assessments and creating overmarkings on client drawings using Bluebeam software, developing detailed designs for construction, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize pipe performance.
The Design Engineer will also ensure compliance with engineering standards and contribute to innovative product designs for enhanced system reliability.
- Proven expertise in design engineering
- Strong proficiency in mechanical engineering, including thermal expansion analysis
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering and its application to pipe systems is an advantage
- Problem‑solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, design engineering, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with industrial piping standards is beneficial
