We are currently seeking a Ecotoxicologist for our Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice in Harrogate (UK), Nottingham (UK), London (UK), Dublin (IE), Mannheim (DE) or Basel (SW) offices; homeworking will also be considered.
You will be responsible for
- Conducting environmental risk assessments for plant protection products as required by EU legislation (Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009)
- Providing advice to clients on plant protection product ecotoxicology/environmental risk assessment issues
- Summarising and interpreting data, including study reports and published literature in the area of ecotoxicology, drawing sound scientific and regulatory conclusions
- Data gap analysis, developing testing strategies and monitoring ecotoxicology studies
- Providing verbal and/or written inputs to multi-disciplinary project teams and contributing to providing high level strategic advice to clients and high-quality outputs
You Will Have The Following Skills And Qualifications
- MSc. degree or equivalent in relevant discipline (e.g. biology, environmental science)
- Experience of completing environmental risk assessments under EU plant protection product legislation (e.g. Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009). Applicants must have relevant experience in this field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong team working skills
- Sound judgement and decision-making ability
- Good numeracy skills
