Job Summary

Security Team Leader – supporting the Security & Healthcare Services Manager in delivering a cost‑effective security service at NHS Harrogate Integrated Facilities
. The role includes protecting staff, patients and visitors, managing incidents, line‑managing officers and liaising with police and other external services.

• Protect staff, patients and visitors from violence and abuse, collecting evidence for criminal proceedings.
• Investigate thefts and other security incidents across the Trust, providing advice to victims and ward/department managers.
• Line‑manage and support Security Officers, maintaining positive relationships with police and criminal justice services.
• Advise senior colleagues and external contractors on security matters; support and advice in cooperation with senior staff.
• Assist with patient movement, portering tasks, car parking operations and general office reception/administrative duties as required.
• Ensure all relevant incident information is logged, recorded and handed over at shift hand‑over.
• Make timely decisions, including where appropriate to involve Police or other external agencies.
• Maintain communication with service users and staff, providing direction and advice regarding security concerns.

• Door Supervisor SIA Licence.
• 2 GCSEs (including Maths and English) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to work in a busy environment where priorities frequently change, using own initiative to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Security SIA Licence (CCTV).
• Experience working in a customer‑orientated security role in a healthcare setting.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience of working with databases and spreadsheets.
• Ability to risk‑assess and adapt in incidents where violent and aggressive behaviour presents.

• Contract – Permanent;
  Working pattern – Full‑time;
  Band – 4;
  Salary – £27,485 – £30,162 per annum.
