About the RoleAs a Maternal Mental Health Registered Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pregnant women and parents of young tamariki who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges. Each day, you’ll walk alongside wāhine and whānau, providing specialist assessment, therapeutic interventions, care coordination, and manaenhancing support that strengthens their wellbeing during pregnancy and early parenting. You will partner closely with clients and their whānau to develop individualised plans of care that reflect their needs, values and aspirations.

Te Ara Manapou is a multidisciplinary maternal mental health and pregnancyparenting support service that works closely with Mental Health Services, Lead Maternity Carers, Oranga Tamariki, primary care providers and a wide range of community and NGO partners. Our team is whānaucentred, collaborative, and committed to delivering safe, culturally responsive care that supports parents to thrive and ensures pēpi have the best possible start.

About youAs a Maternal Mental Health Registered Practitioner, you will bring strong clinical judgement, cultural responsiveness, and a passion for working with vulnerable and complex whānau. You will also have:
- Current New Zealand registration and APC (Nursing Council / SWRB or relevant professional body).
- Clinical experience in mental health and/or addictions (preferably 2+ years).
- Excellent engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly.
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to work effectively with Māori.
- A full clean NZ drivers licence.
