Pay and Working Conditions

• Salary:
  Ark Outside London Support Scale 5, Pay Points 5 – 12: £25,583 to £28,598 per annum pro rata (Starting Salary £24,741.32)
• Contract type:
  Permanent
• Working pattern:
  Part‑time, term‑time only (39 weeks of the year, + 2 extra holiday weeks)
• Hours:
  
  38.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year – 07:00 am to 03:45 pm Mon‑Fri (includes 1 hr or 2 x 30‑min unpaid breaks per day)

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present food meeting school standards and Chef Manager’s direction.
• Supervise the catering team, ensuring high levels of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and safety.
• Maintain a high standard of catering service across all kitchen and dining areas.
• Work quickly and safely, support staff and students, and adapt to changing demands.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working in a busy kitchen.
• Resilient character and strong personal drive.
• Ownership of tasks and high‑standard delivery.
• Health & safety and/or food hygiene qualification (not essential).
• Team player with initiative.
• Flexibility to cover other team members, including on the other campus.
• Calm and professional under pressure, solution‑oriented.
• Flexible attitude towards work.
