Platform Administrator - Unix

Join our Enterprise Team at Computacenter and play a key role in supporting our Managed Service customers. As an experienced Platform (Unix) Administrator, you’ll work in a dynamic environment managing critical infrastructure built for high availability and performance. You’ll be responsible for day‑to‑day Unix administration, installations, backup and recovery, and project delivery, while also providing out‑of‑hours support on a rota basis.

Hatfield, Nottingham or Milton Keynes (full‑time in office)

Must be SC Cleared, or willingness to undertake

• Deliver high‑quality technical support and project work across RHEL, Oracle Linux, and other Unix environments
• Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering teams on design and implementation
• Provide technical break/fix support, including 24/7 on‑call rota participation
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to drive continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with IT methodologies and proactively manage risks and issues
• Complete regular administration tasks and maintain service levels

• Expert knowledge of Unix administration (RHEL & Oracle Linux)
• Familiarity with Ansible, Podman, Docker, and Azure
• Experience with high availability systems and replication
• Knowledge of Oracle middleware, databases, and backup/recovery tools (Net Backup/Veeam)
• Understanding of ITIL v4, ISO 20000, and ISO 27000 standards
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple geographies
