Work Pattern

Working between the hours of 5am and 1pm, a full work pattern will be discussed  colleagues will be required to work every other weekend or every Saturday/every Sunday.

+ £3.00 p/h unsocial premium is only added on any hours worked between 22:00-06:00.

Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Bakery section, where you'll become a champion of our delicious baked goods. We're seeking passionate individuals with a love for baking and a deep understanding of bakery products to deliver fresh perspectives every day.

You’ll be a brand ambassador who’s ready to recommend our delicious bakery products. Through remarkable service you’ll make sure our customers feel truly valued every time they shop with us.

Key Responsibilities & Capabilities
  • Serve our customers efficiently, both on the shop floor and at service points.
  • Keep the store clean and tidy, ensuring that our shelves are always stocked with product.
  • Monitor and deliver on the daily sales targets, priorities, promotions and selling opportunities.
  • Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, make recommendations and deliver remarkable service throughout their visit to store.
  • Build expert product knowledge to sell and recommend our products and services.
  • Use digital tools, including the Sparks App, to enhance the customer experience and ensure they get the products they want when they need them.
  • Use digital tools and communication channels to deliver for the customer every time.
  • Be digitally confident; you’ll utilise our digital tools to enhance both the customer experience and ensure they get the products they want when they need them.
  • Work efficiently and effectively, ensuring customers don’t wait while maintaining high standards in food safety and hygiene.
  • Be a team player, supporting and respecting colleagues and customers, creating a great inclusive store environment.
  • Show flexibility, working effectively across various areas of the store and adapting to the changing demands of the retail environment seamlessly.
