Requirement For a P6 Project Planner - Water Industry

Dependant on Experience (£45,000 - £50,000+).

A leading engineering services provider operating across the UK water sector, delivering major capital, MEICA, and infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced P6 Planner to support programmes across AMP8 and wider framework work streams.
Role OverviewYou will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analysing project schedules for complex water and wastewater projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and clients to ensure accurate programme visibility and timely project delivery of Mechanical & Electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Produce fully logic-linked programmes aligned with project scopes, WBS, and contractual requirements.
- Support tender programmes and provide planning input during bid stages.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, delays, and opportunities, and report impacts to the project delivery team.
- Prepare monthly programme updates, progress dashboards, S-curves, and earned value reports.
- Conduct critical path analysis and scenario planning to support decision-making.
- Attend progress meetings with clients and internal teams, presenting programme status and key issues.
- Ensure compliance with water industry standards and frameworks (e.g., Thames Water, Southern Water, Wessex Water, etc., depending on project).
- Work collaboratively with the Mechanical & Electrical aspects of projects.
- Proven experience as a P6 Planner within the Water Industry.
- Experience with in the Southern Water authority (preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, including cost and resource loading.
- Understanding of NEC contract forms and programme requirements.
- Knowledge of project life cycles in the water sector (AMP frameworks, capital delivery).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple programmes simultaneously.
- Full UK driving licence (some site visits required).
