Your new role:
In this position, you’ll be central to helping families stay safe and rebuild their lives.
The role focuses on providing tailored support, guiding families through challenging circumstances, and helping them regain confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out risk assessments and develop personalised safety strategies.
- Create support plans that reflect each family’s needs and promote long‑term wellbeing.
- Work alongside professionals in health, safeguarding, housing, policing, and legal services.
- Assist families to avoid homelessness and understand the impact of abusive situations.
- Offer emotional support, encourage positive parenting, and help families strengthen relationships.
- Support individuals as they move from refuge accommodation back into the community.
- Encourage engagement with social, leisure, and community activities to reduce isolation.
- Ensure the safety of adults and children by making safeguarding referrals when required.
- Keep accurate records and ensure all work aligns with legislation, policies, and best‑practice standards.
- Take part in team meetings, supervision, training, and the on‑call rota.
- Help raise awareness of domestic abuse and the services available.

- Experience supporting families or individuals, ideally in domestic abuse, safeguarding, or community‑based roles.
- A calm, empathetic approach and the ability to build trust.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with partner agencies.
- The ability to maintain clear, accurate records and follow organisational procedures.
- A commitment to equality, inclusion, and empowering families to make informed choices.
- Flexibility to join the on‑call rota and occasionally work outside standard hours.
- A willingness to learn, as training is available to help you grow in the role.
- Salary between £22,500 and £23,500 per year, plus on‑call payments.
