American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience and KY or compact licensure.

Requirements

Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience required
Flu vaccine required, with medical and religious exemptions considered case by case
Valid driver's license required, with address matching permanent address
2 professional references required: one Charge or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year

Responsibilities

Work in a 3 South Stepdown unit with 1:4-5 patient ratios
Day shift schedule alternating between 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:30)
Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
Every other weekend required
Float required within scope of practice
Meditech charting system preferred experience
Cares for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC-level monitoring
Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, and post-TPA care is valuable
Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted afterward
Required to work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after completing one year before returning to the system
Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
