Multiskilled Engineer – Hemel Hempstead The Role

PRS are working with one of our clients in looking for an experienced Multiskilled Engineer to join a well-established site in Hemel Hempstead. This is a client-facing position, working across a mixed‑use environment that includes retail and landlord‑controlled areas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of building services, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and to a high standard at all times.

Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per annum

Location:

Hemel Hempstead

• Shift pattern : 7:00–16:00 and 9:00–18:00
• Saturday cover required every other week
• A lieu day will be provided (8:30–17:30)

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and/or electrical faults
• Undertake basic fabric maintenance where required (e.g. minor repairs, doors, fixtures, finishes)
• Liaise directly with clients, tenants, and site management in a professional and courteous manner
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures
• Accurately complete job reports, paperwork and system updates
• Understand and work within the boundaries of landlord vs retail responsibilities

• Mechanically or electrically biased, but confidently multiskilled
• Proven experience working in a commercial or retail environment
• Strong understanding of landlord and tenant maintenance responsibilities
• Comfortable in a client‑facing role with excellent communication skills
• Presentable, professional, and reliable
• Able to carry out basic fabric works alongside core engineering duties
• Flexible to support alternate Saturday cover
