This position based in our Mumbai office is for a full-time Assistant Accountant.
The RoleThis position based in our Mumbai office is for a full-time Assistant Accountant for Ambrey’s Finance Department based in India. The Assistant Accountant will work with the Senior Accountant based in Mumbai and the Finance team there and in Hereford in the UK and will be responsible for a variety of tasks including maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements and assisting with the month-end closing processes.
They will work with accounts payable and receivable and reconcile bank accounts. Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills are essential, as is a solid understanding of accounting principles and be part qualified in a recognised accounting qualification.
- Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of
- accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and the
- general ledger.
- Reconciling bank statements and investigating any discrepancies.
- Preparing and processing invoices, ensuring timely and accurate recording of payments.
- Contributing to the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss accounts and cash-flow statements.
- Participating in the month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Providing support for audits and assisting with the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Keeping up-to-date with changes in accounting principles and best practices.
- Qualified or part-qualified in an accounting degree or finance related.
- Relevant experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Quick Books, Xero).
- Ability to analyse financial data and identify areas for improvement.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Familiarity with international accounting standards and practices will be an advantage.
- Salary: INR 435,250 to INR 600,000 per annum commensurate with experience.
