Drainage Design Engineer - Hertfordshire £38,000-£45,000 per year

What You Will Be Doing

As the Drainage Design Engineer, you will be:
- Carrying out detailed drainage and surface water design for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments using industry-standard software.
- Producing design calculations, technical reports, and construction drawings to support planning submissions and technical approvals.
- Collaborating with multi-discipline teams including civil engineers, planners, and flood risk specialists to ensure integrated design outcomes.
- Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to resolve technical queries and support approvals.
- Reviewing site constraints and applying best practice sustainable drainage (SuDS) principles to mitigate flood risk.

What You Will Bring (Essential Skills & Experience)
- Proven experience as a Drainage Design Engineer or in a relevant drainage/civil engineering design role.
- Strong knowledge of drainage design principles, SuDS, and relevant UK design standards.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Micro Drainage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar software.
- Good communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload effectively.
