Facilities Coordinator

Location: Hexham, NE48 2EZ

Contract: Full Time

Hours: Monday to Thursday – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (occasional Fridays with OT paid)

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all on‑site contractors, ensuring RAMS, permits, competencies and documentation are fully checked, validated and communicated to the client. Maintain the Contractor Management File in line with Sodexo and client requirements.
  • Oversee full site compliance and business‑as‑usual operations, including maintaining personnel files, collating H&S documentation, and supporting annual reviews of policies, risk assessments and waste management procedures.
  • Attend weekly client meetings to discuss planned works, resolve issues and ensure smooth coordination of contractor activity.
  • Carry out basic handyman and site operational tasks such as grass cutting, PAT testing and emergency lighting checks (training provided).
  • Complete monthly compliance verification and KPI reporting.
  • Uphold safe working practices, champion site safety and report hazards or concerns promptly.
  • Provide cover for cleaning duties when required, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Support procurement activity by obtaining quotes and raising purchase orders (training provided).
  • Be flexible with working days to support contractor scheduling and operational needs.
What We're Looking For
  • IOSH Managing Safely (preferred) or equivalent H&S competency, with strong understanding of COSHH and safe working practices.
  • Experience in frontline cleaning, including knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals and equipment.
  • Basic fabric technician/handyman skill set (NVQ equivalent).
  • Ability to review, understand and challenge contractor RAMS where necessary.
  • Strong planning, organisational and decision‑making skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviour.
  • Professional attitude with excellent customer service skills.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety, recycling and sustainability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC literate.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
