Charles River Discovery are excited to recruit a Technician I on an initial 12‑month FTC, to be based at our High Peak site. This is a lab‑based support role where you’ll be able to carry out certain tasks as requested and in line with established procedure. WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Assist in the production of microarray slides.
- Routine culture of established cell lines.
- Maintain quality control procedures.
- Assist with assay development and refinement as required.
- Involvement in continuous improvement activities related to cell culture.
- Assist with the organisation of equipment servicing.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures.
- Responsibility for the cleanliness and organisation of the Core Technology laboratory – liquid nitrogen stocks, carbon dioxide cylinders, cleaning and maintenance of the cell culture hoods, incubators, water baths, aliquoting and appropriate disposal of waste.
- Educated to degree level essential in a relevant scientific discipline (molecular biology/biological sciences/biology or similar).
- Any industrial lab experience would be highly advantageous, but not essential as full training will be given.
- Strong communication and time‑management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Desire and passion for life sciences and drug discovery.
- Role is site based at High Peak; candidates must be able to travel on a daily basis.
