Overview

Principal/Senior or Experienced HV Plant Design Engineer (Substation Design) at Stantec, based in High Wycombe, United Kingdom. Join our Energy team to lead and contribute to HV substation design projects across the country, including FEED and detailed design for refurbishment, extensions, and new-builds.

• Lead and support FEED design and detailed design for HV substations and primary plant projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions for HV substation design, including connections schemes, HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, and new builds or refurbishments.
• Work with key T&D clients in the UK, providing coaching within the energy team and promoting innovative, sustainable, and efficient design solutions.
• Contribute to developing and applying industry best practices, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with energy transition goals.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer with design and specification production for HV Substation power systems and components.
• Understanding of protection and control (P&C) concepts is preferable.
• Proactive, collaborative, and able to coach and work within a growing energy team; strong communication and knowledge-sharing skills.
• Open to candidates from related technical backgrounds with willingness to learn;
