Salary:
Up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus £700 on call allowance (total £30,700).

High Wycombe, Bucks.

Contract:

Permanent, Full time (37 hours a week).

Merryfields is a 14‑bed Short Break Residential Service providing 24‑hour care for 5 18‑year‑olds with moderate to severe learning disabilities. We strive to provide top‑tier person‑centred care and offer various activities to encourage social experiences and promote equality and diversity.

• Build and maintain positive relationships by providing emotional/social support to young people, who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties, including supporting with personal care.
• Take the lead with case/care planning management for children or young people.
• Carry out regular reviews of young people's paperwork and package of support, in conjunction with the children, young people, their families and professionals from their wider support network.
• Supervise, guide, direct and train the staff team and volunteers where required and provide induction.
• Attend professional meetings including reviews, safeguarding conferences/court work, EHC planning meetings etc.
• Deputise in the manager's absence, liaise with stakeholders and a range of other professionals and take the lead in specific areas of the service such as compliance, health and safety and service monitoring.

• Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce Social Care Pathway/Residential Care or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a supervisory/management role.
• Experience in managing and prioritising work.
• Commitment to going that extra mile.
• Experience of working with children with challenging behavioural/emotional and complex needs.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.
• A driving licence is desirable as travel may be required for service cluster activities and training meetings.
