Full-Time & Part-Time | Accepting applications year-round for the 2027–2028 school year

This is an evergreen posting. We accept applications on an ongoing basis, primarily for the 2027–2028 school year, and there may not be a current vacancy. We would rather know great teachers before we need them. When a classroom opens, we hire from candidates already in conversation with us.

Health and dental insurance (full-time); life insurance and short- and long-term disability (full-time); retirement plan; paid time off; advanced degree reimbursement; classical Christian education training and professional development; a published salary scale that rewards years in classical Christian education.

Schedule & Compensation
  • 67,230 annually
Part-Time (subject or section teaching)
  • Schedule varies by course load
  • Same scale, prorated by FTE

Arma Dei publishes its salary scale. Placement is set by years of experience in classical Christian education and degree level (bachelor's, master's, doctorate), with a raise built into each year of service.

About the Position
  • Grammar (K–5): students memorize joyfully through chant, song, and recitation, and build a foundation of wonder at the order of God's creation.
  • Logic (6–8): when students become naturally argumentative, we teach them to argue well, through Socratic dialogue and formal and informal logic, with humility and charity.
  • Rhetoric (9–12): students learn to speak and write persuasively in every subject, to lead others toward what is true, good, and beautiful.

You will teach a carefully sequenced curriculum (phonics, literature, composition, Latin, history, math, science, Bible, art, and music) alongside a Grade Level or Discipline Lead and your School Dean. Tell us which school and subject fit you best.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate biblical truth across every subject
  • Teach with classical pedagogy: mimetic and Socratic teaching, poetry, chants, and song where they fit the age
  • Know your course's scope and sequence and keep pacing, grading, and behavior systems aligned with your grade level or department
  • Keep an ordered, beautiful classroom with routines that run themselves
  • Train students in character, manners, organization, and the peacemaking process
  • Work with your Lead and the Dean of Academics on struggling students and follow the Academic Support Policy
  • Keep Canvas grade books and course pages current; write report cards that accurately describe performance, ability, and character
  • Communicate regularly with families and help them understand classical Christian education
  • Share in lunch, recess, carline, and homeroom duties, and in evening events such as Back-to-School Night, Recitation Night, and Parent-Teacher Conferences
  • Build a professional development plan with your supervisor
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • A spiritually vibrant Christian who affirms Arma Dei's Statement of Faith and integrates faith and work with humility
  • Loves the subject matter, the students, and the toil of the day
  • Self-aware, hungry to learn, and open to growth
  • Excellent written and oral communication
Preferred
  • Degree or deep expertise in your teaching field
  • Classical Christian education experience
  • Experience at your preferred grade level
