Core Responsibilities

• Order Preparation & Merchandising:
  Prepare, pan, and display bakery products in showcases quickly and efficiently. Pack, label, and merchandise bakery products on display shelves, and continuously refill/maintain product quantity and quality.
• Department Support & Special Services:
  Write custom messages on cakes (e.g., "Happy Birthday", "Congratulations") upon customer request. Brew coffee, fold boxes, reduce products reaching "sell-by" dates, stock/refill supplies, and fill orders for other locations.
• Housekeeping & Sales Support:
  Engage in suggestive selling and make PA announcements. Answer phone calls, assist with customer needs, sweep/pick up debris in the bakery area, and clean work areas and showcases.
• Customer & Team Engagement:
  Promptly and efficiently greet, thank, offer assistance to, and meet the needs of all customers with local warmth and "World Class Service".

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Environment:
  Continuously perform all duties indoors in an air-conditioned building that may be dusty, noisy, and busy with high customer/co-worker volume. Frequently work in a prep room to prepare, pack, and label items. Occasionally work in cold walk-in chillers/freezers or wet conditions when prep room floors are being cleaned.
• Physical Effort:
  Continuously stand, walk, handle items, use fingers, and maintain corrected vision. Adapt to working at a faster pace when production is behind schedule. Frequently bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and reach to retrieve items from showcases, shelves, and baking racks. Occasionally push/pull up to 100 lbs, lift/carry up to 35 lbs, and climb/balance to retrieve supplies.
• Safety Equipment & Dress Code:
  Continuously wear a hair restraint, covered slip‑resistant shoes, gloves, an apron, and a back support belt to comply with Department of Health regulations and company safety standards.
• Equipment Use:
  Frequently use bread slicers, coffee makers, stretch wrappers, bakery racks, pastry fillers, knives, tongs, spatulas, label machines, tape dispensers, case cutters, price guns, and telephones. Occasionally use microwaves, pastry bags, brooms, dustpans, and cleaning solutions.
