Minibus Driver & Maintenance Assistant

Gittisham Hill Park, situated in the picturesque Honiton, Devon, provides a beautiful backdrop for our residents, featuring a variety of retirement living options amidst 12 acres of parkland.

We are seeking a Minibus Driver & Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this dual role, you will not only ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of our residents but also assist in performing essential maintenance tasks to uphold the quality of our community. You will be a key contributor to enhancing the lives of our residents by fostering a friendly and supportive environment.

This is a part-time role working 12 hours per week.

• Safely transport residents to appointments, activities, and social outings using the company minibus
• Assist residents as they board and disembark from the minibus, prioritizing their comfort and safety
• Adhere to an organized transportation schedule to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs
• Conduct regular safety inspections of the minibus and promptly report any maintenance issues
• Maintain cleanliness and order of the minibus’s interior
• Perform various maintenance tasks including minor repairs, changing light bulbs, and other general upkeep duties
• Contribute to the overall maintenance and visual appeal of the community's facilities and grounds

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Experience in driving, particularly in a healthcare or senior living context, is preferred
• Strong understanding of traffic regulations and safety protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with residents and team members
• Capacity to handle challenging situations with composure and professionalism
• Basic skills in maintenance work and a willingness to learn
• Physical fitness to manage lifting and manual handling tasks as required
