Based in Kent, our client is a specialist groundwork subcontractor within the residential house building market. With projects in and around Kent, they have built a brand that stands for quality and strong client relationships. The senior management team work together towards common goals, impress an interview stages and retain excellent staff. The business rarely recruits because they don’t need to, but this position has come about due to the growth and expansion of the team.

Our client is looking to strengthen their existing team by adding an experienced groundwork Estimator / Senior Estimator to the ranks.

This role will involve the usual duties, such as putting together tenders for groundwork packages in and around Kent for residential housing schemes. Usual package values you will be expected to target will range from £5m up to £20m each, with some projects going above this. The following duties include:

• Preparation of tender submissions
• Measuring and take‑offs from drawings
• Producing bills‑of‑quantities
• Cost planning
• Pre and post‑contract meetings with clients
• Build‑up of tender price from first principles based on plans, programme and scope of works

We are looking for someone with previous experience working for a groundwork subcontractor in the UK in an estimating capacity. It is important that you have the knowledge of pricing and producing tenders for Concrete Frame and Groundwork packages in and around the South East and London to be considered.

Due to the nature of this role, we target candidates currently earning anywhere from £60,000 to £90,000 per annum. Self‑employed options are available, as well as PAYE. Salaries/rates will be negotiable at the point of interview, depending on the level of experience. With the basic salary, our client offers a usual package of car allowance and benefits, plus an annual bonus to all staff.
