Overview
BYD is seeking H&S Officer to cover various energy storage site locations across the UK. The HSE Officer will manage all HSE aspects of operations in the UK, including the safety of after-sales employees and the compliance of project sites. The successful candidate will develop and implement HSE policies, ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, and foster a strong HSE culture within the company.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with UK regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide HSE training and support to employees, ensuring they understand and comply with safety protocols.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to ensure HSE standards are met during site activities.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Promote a positive HSE culture within the company through awareness campaigns, training sessions, and regular communication.
- Ensure that all necessary HSE documentation and records are maintained accurately and up-to-date.
- Stay current with UK HSE regulations and industry best practices, and implement necessary changes to company policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the energy storage or related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK HSE regulations and standards.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence employees at all levels.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
- Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualifications is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel to various project sites across the UK as required.
