Howden – Corporate & Commercial are looking for a Senior Client Executive to join their new business team in Cheltenham who will focus on delivering our services to colleges, universities and student accommodation providers and help drive new business growth for our company.
You will be prospecting, generating leads, developing business and winning clients. The Senior Client Executive will also show the ability to build long‑lasting relationships and the ability to utilise new business opportunities. You will meet and exceed new business targets in the education sector. This role will focus on the non‑advised products we deliver to the education and student sectors.
In this pivotal role, you will proactively identify and pursue prospective clients, generate and nurture your own pipeline, and strategically drive new business development. As Senior Client Executive, you will consistently surpass new business targets, demonstrating a results‑driven mindset and a consultative approach. This position places a particular emphasis on promoting our suite of non‑advised products tailored for educational institutions and student accommodation providers, ensuring our offerings remain relevant and innovative in an ever‑evolving market.
Please note this is a full‑time, permanent opportunity. This role will be field‑based but with a requirement to be in our Cheltenham office with days to be confirmed by the manager.
Overview- Responsible for prospecting and securing new partnerships.
- Speaking with clients and providing solutions over the phone, via video call, and in person.
- Attending key conferences to generate new opportunities.
- Providing accurate sales forecasts to the Client Director using pipeline reporting and CRM systems.
- Supporting the wider team by maintaining relationships with key partners.
- Working alongside Service and Renewals to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
- Finding opportunities for leads to other areas of B2B, providing introductions and supporting the cross‑sell process.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a sales role.
- Experience working in wellbeing, mental health, employee benefits sectors – desirable, but not essential.
- Knowledge of insurance sales gained in a Broker or Insurer environment – desirable, but not essential.
- Customer‑focused approach.
- Excellent communication and social skills.
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Capable of working flexibly to achieve tight deadlines/targets with good organisation skills.
- The ability to handle your own diary and workload effectively and work to tight deadlines with accuracy.
- Ability to understand people, establish rapport, and adapt communication styles.
