AP Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Consultant to support invoice processing and purchase order reconciliation. The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting or processing invoices against purchase orders, along with familiarity with accounting dimensions such as location, class, department, project, item, and cost code.

This role will monitor the accounts payable inbox, enter invoices into Sage Intacct, and work closely with project managers to validate purchase order activity and resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the AP inbox, organize incoming invoices, and respond to vendor and internal inquiries.
• Review and enter vendor invoices into Sage Intacct accurately and promptly.
• Apply appropriate account coding and dimensions, including location, class, department, project, item, and cost code.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation, verifying amounts and quantities.
• Coordinate with project managers to confirm purchasing activity and obtain invoice approvals.
• Investigate and resolve differences between purchase order and invoice amounts, quantities, and pricing.
• Identify duplicate invoices, missing documentation, and other processing issues.
• Maintain organized records supporting invoice approvals and an accurate audit trail.

Qualifications

• Prior hands-on accounts payable experience.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Net Suite, or a comparable midsize ERP system.
• Experience processing purchase order invoices and resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Familiarity with accounting dimensions and allocating expenses across projects, departments, or locations.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with project managers, vendors, and accounting staff.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.

Preferred Experience

• Construction or project-based accounting experience.
• Direct experience with Sage Intacct.
• Familiarity with project cost coding and purchase order reconciliation.
