A growing Yorkshire-based engineering business is looking to add a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to its team, supporting a UK and international customer base. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from a highly experienced group of Mechanical Design Engineers who will guide and support your development.

£28,000 - £35,000 + Pension + Healthcare

We are ideally seeking a candidate who is apprentice trained with shop floor experience who has moved into the design office. Please note, sponsorship is not available for this role.

Junior Mechanical Design Engineer
- The Role:

Work within a supportive design team to develop mechanical design specifications for rotating equipment
Create and maintain all relevant technical documentation
Collaborate closely with internal teams to support machine build activities

Mechanical Design Engineer  

- The Person :

Ideally Apprentice trained with hands-on experience of machine build
Some mechanical design experience would be great
Self-motivated, adaptable and eager to learn
Beneficial to have some electrical engineering knowledge
Ideal for Engineers comfortable working within highly regulated environments

Experience of mechanical calculations/tolerance/stress/FEA preferred

You’ll be part of a friendly, expanding team with plenty of opportunities to grow your skills and work on interesting engineering projects for clients across the UK and worldwide.

Ideally, your background will be from an Apprenticeship / machine building so you have a good understanding of how to turn a design into reality.

Located in West Yorkshire, this role would be commutable from Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds and surrounding areas.
