Astute's Team are partnered with Augean and Future Industrial Services, market leaders in industrial services and hazardous waste management across the UK, to recruit a Senior Business Development Manager to support their established Industrial Services team based in Hull. We are seeking a highly experienced, commercially astute Senior Business Development professional with a strong background in developing strategic customers and opening new markets.

The role will focus on expanding the customer base within Utilities, Engineering, Demolition, Civils, and Regeneration sectors, promoting a comprehensive range of industrial services including tankers, Jet Vacs, Disabs, Hydro-Abrasive Cutting, and associated specialist solutions. The Senior Business Development Manager role offers a competitive salary of up to £72,000  car allowance, bonus, and an attractive benefits package. Responsibilities and duties:

Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager / Head of Commercial, you will:

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and drive strategic business development activity to deliver sustained growth across new and existing customers within Engineering, Demolition, Civils, Utilities and Regeneration markets. Identify, target, and convert new market opportunities, positioning Augean and Future Industrial Services as a preferred industrial services partner. Develop and maintain a robust, high-value pipeline of opportunities aligned with regional and group business plans. Build long-term, senior-level customer relationships, ensuring high service standards, managing performance, and resolving non-conformances effectively.

Take ownership of margin management, pricing strategy, and commercial negotiations to maximise profitability and secure continuity of work. Work collaboratively across the wider Augean Group to identify cross-divisional opportunities, particularly within waste treatment, recovery, and disposal services. Provide commercial leadership by supporting Account Managers and operational teams to ensure seamless contract mobilisation and delivery. Lead and oversee the tendering and bid process, including commercial review, financial modelling, risk assessment, and governance compliance.

Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to shape sales strategy and future service offerings. Act as a senior commercial interface between customers, operations, and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and profitably. Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all activities. Represent Augean and Future Industrial Services at industry events, client meetings, and stakeholder forums, acting as a brand ambassador for the business.

Ensure compliance with company policies, including data protection, security, and equal opportunities. Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with:
Extensive experience in industrial services, engineering, demolition, civils, utilities and regeneration or related sectors, operating at a senior business development or commercial level. Proven success in developing new industries and strategic customer accounts, delivering profitable growth. Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing complex contracts, tenders, and frameworks. Degree qualification or significant demonstrable experience in senior business development, sales, or commercial leadership.
