Position: Operations Manager (Permanent)
We are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of a multi-site company based in Hull (they are not in the food or kitchens sector). On offer is a salary of between £55,000.00 and £70,000.00 per year which is negotiable based on experience. Our client is specifically looking for someone with a proven history of operational and team efficiencies, a minimum of five years LEAN manufacturing experience and excellent people management and development skills.
As the Operations Manager you will report into the Managing Director and be responsible for:

* The overall management, control, organisation and direction of all operational departments across multiple sites (Currently 6 sites and around 80 Production / Operations Team Members).

* Monitoring and reviewing operational performance across all core areas, addressing any issues with the relevant team managers and leaders.

* Driving continuous improvement across all sites.

* The development, implementation and ongoing review of their Standard Operating Procedures for all sites / areas.

* Reviewing and managing operational reports to understand management information, identifying trends and implementing remedial actions as needed.

* Providing leadership and management support to managers and their wider teams.

* Attending management meetings to engage, support and optimise knowledge / relationships to support day to day activities and ensure customer expectations are met.

* Continually working to implement best practice and supporting consistency in approach including performance delivery, initiatives and any business change requirements.

* Setting objectives meeting targets, deadlines and KPIs to maximise operational performance and efficiency to ensure both internal and external customers receive outstanding service.

* Delivering best in class customer service.

* Maintaining high HSE standards.
To be considered as the Operations Manager you will need:

* A minimum of five years LEAN manufacturing experience, a proven history of improving operational and team efficiencies, excellent people management and development skills.

* A hands-on and visible management style (the ability to roll up your sleeves and get involved where necessary) with a continuous improvement approach and the ability to work with teams to instil trust and confidence.

* To cultivate strong working relationships to create effective working partnerships with both internal and external partners.

* To undertake regular performance reviews and annual appraisals, identifying training needs and ensuring the appropriate training is provided.

* To work closely with HR for recruitment, team development and any disciplinary procedures including working with managers to identify needs, setting resourcing goals, planning for needs and balancing the skills and experience needed in areas of responsibility.

* To be a dedicated Operations Manager with a passion for operational excellence.

* A minimum of 5 years LEAN manufacturing and operations management experience.

* To demonstrate the ability to lead, inspire, engage and enthuse a large and multi-site team, ensuring the support needed to enable them to manage effectively.

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver direction and motivate teams effectively.

* Experience of managing P&L and budgets.

* Strong problem solving abilities with the ability to identify issues and develop effective and practical solutions.

* Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks and processes.
On offer for the successful Operations Manager is:

* A salary of between £55,000 and £75,000 per year.
