We are currently seeking an experienced Management Accountant for a 6-month contract to support an engineering business's finance function with a focus on project accounting.

This role will suit a commercially minded accountant who is confident working in a project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Full management accounting support including month-end close, journals, accruals and prepayments

* Project accounting across multiple live projects, including cost tracking, WIP, revenue recognition and margin analysis

* Preparation and ownership of project forecasts and budgets

* FX forecasting and analysis, including monitoring currency exposure and variance analysis

* Supporting cash flow forecasting and financial planning

* Producing management reports and providing financial insight to senior stakeholders and project managers

* Ad-hoc analysis to support commercial decision-making

Key Requirements

* Proven experience as a Management Accountant in a project-based environment

* Strong project accounting background (WIP, revenue recognition, project cost control)

* Demonstrable experience with FX forecasting, currency exposure and variance analysis

* Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) preferred

* Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems highly desirable

* Able to work autonomously and hit the ground running in a contract role

Desirable

* Experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing or other project-led sectors

* Previous contract experience

* Immediate or short-notice availability
