Defense Systems Land Systems is seeking a skilled Cyber Engineer to support cloud and container security operations onsite. This role focuses on securing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) environments, implementing continuous authorization (cATO), and integrating Dev Sec Ops  practices across hybrid cloud platforms. Primary Responsibilities

• Design and apply network segmentation, zero‑trust policies, and access controls for cloud and on‑premise assets.
• Configure and maintain secure routing between data‑centers, remote sites, and public clouds.
• Build and operate networking services in AWS and Azure (VPCs, Subnets, VPN/Express Route, Transit Gateways).
• Enable high‑throughput multicast or broadcast traffic where required.
• Integrate Kubernetes networking (CNI plugins) with underlying SDN or hardware appliances.
• Automate provisioning, change‑control, and policy enforcement with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting (e.g., Splunk, Cloud Watch, Prometheus) to surface performance and security events in real time.
• Partner with Dev Sec Ops , application, and mission‑team engineers to define secure connectivity requirements.
• Produce concise run‑books, architecture diagrams, and documentation for all networking solutions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or master’s with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Hands‑on with AWS and/or Azure networking.
• Experience with Kubernetes/Docker (Podman, Rancher optional).
• Python scripting for automation or tooling.
• Linux administration in classified/sensitive settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; comfortable troubleshooting complex network issues.
• Must be a US citizen and possess an active secret clearance.
• Full time onsite support.
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of software supply-chain security and vulnerability assessment
• Dev Sec Ops  experience – embedding security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with RMF, STIG, A&A, or continuous ATO processes.
• Experience with ACAS, Splunk, or similar security monitoring tools.
• Exposure to static/dynamic analysis tools (Sonar Qube, Fortify, etc.).
• Git Lab CI/CD pipeline development.

• Strong written & verbal communication, especially translating technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
