Senior Data Platform & Data Exchange Architect

We are building a state-scale data and analytics infrastructure for the Government of Telangana called TGDex (Telangana Data Exchange), focused on secure data exchange, enterprise data platforms, and AI-driven governance.
This initiative has two core pillars:
A secure data exchange platform built on India’s IUDX/TGDEx ecosystem.
A centralized data and analytics platform to power welfare monitoring, and data-driven policy making across government departments.

We are looking for a mid-senior to senior data professional who can own the end-to-end data stack and contribute to the architecture and evolution of the state’s data exchange platform.

Key Responsibilities
Architect and design the state-wide data exchange platform, ensuring security, scalability, and interoperability.
Provide technical leadership to engineering teams, vendors, and system integrators.
Lead the development of enterprise data platforms, including data lakes, data warehouses, metadata systems, and API gateways.
Define and implement data governance frameworks, including access control, consent management, and data quality standards.
Collaborate with multiple government departments to onboard datasets, integrate systems, and streamline data flows.
Drive AI/ML readiness, ensuring the platform supports analytics workloads, model deployment, and real-time data processing.
Ensure compliance with national and state-level data policies, privacy frameworks, and cybersecurity standards.

What You Will Do
1. Own the End-to-End Data Platform
You will design, build, and manage the core data stack, including:
Data ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines (batch and streaming)
Data lake and enterprise data warehouse architecture
Architect and operate big data platforms (Hadoop/Spark-based or cloud-native equivalents)
Business data warehouse and curated data marts
Data transformation pipelines and analytics-ready datasets
Dimensional data modelling (star/snowflake schemas, SCDs)
Data quality, lineage, reliability, and metadata management

2. Architect Secure Data Exchange
You will contribute to the design and enhancement of a data exchange layer, including:
Secure, policy-driven data sharing between departments
API-based data access, authentication, authorization, and auditing
Enhancements to TGDEx / IUDX-based data exchange capabilities
Consent-based and role-based data access models
Interoperability across heterogeneous legacy systems

3. Enable Downstream Analytics & AI
This is not a pure data science role, but you will work closely with analytics and AI teams by:
Designing data models optimized for BI, advanced analytics, ML, and AI workloads
Supporting feature engineering and ML pipelines
Enabling forecasting, risk scoring, anomaly detection, and optimization use cases
Collaborating on MLOps and model deployment pipelines
