Role

Description:

We are seeking an experienced  Postgre

SQL DBA  to join our team for a critical project within the LPL environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Postgre

SQL database systems, ensuring the highest level of availability and performance for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage Postgre

SQL databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, database server resources, systems, and key processes.
Provide 24/7 support for critical production systems and perform regular database tuning and performance optimization. Design and implement backup and recovery strategies.
Troubleshoot Postgre

SQL database performance issues, resolve outages, and automate administrative tasks.
Apply experience with Liquibase to operationalize database changes, ensuring smooth version control and deployment of database updates.
Leverage advanced knowledge of data structures to enable smooth and efficient egress processing, ensuring data integrity and performance.
Collaborate with application developers to create optimized queries and schemas to meet the project needs.
Conduct regular security monitoring to identify potential vulnerabilities and proactively implement solutions.

Required

Skills and Experience:

9+ years of experience as a Postgre

SQL DBA or in a similar role.
Proficiency in database administration, backups, recovery, and security.
Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization.
In-depth knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for Postgre

SQL.

Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl for automation.
Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS for Postgre

SQL for Postgre

SQL.
Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with replication and load balancing for Postgre

SQL.
Knowledge of other relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL.
Familiarity with database migration tools and techniques.
