Consultant Cellular Pathologist – Cellular Pathology Department, Raigmore Hospital, Inverness
We are seeking a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join a small, efficient department that provides core cellular pathology services across the Highlands and Islands. The post is full‑time (10% programmed activity) with consideration for part‑time arrangements and replaces an existing position. The successful candidate will work alongside six other substantive consultants.
Key responsibilities
- Take part in the departmental general rota, providing both sub‑specialist and generalist reporting.
- Utilise the Cirdan Ultra Laboratory Information Management System and Philips digital pathology setup for diagnostic reporting.
- Participate in the extra‑contractual autopsy service for the Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit, where desired.
- Offer teaching support for undergraduates and postgraduates as opportunities arise.
Technical resources
The department provides a fully computerised environment, including digital imaging for macroscopic sections, microscope imaging, and Dragon Voice Recognition technology.
