The roleOur work is all about securing the land rights required to develop the proposed 400kV overhead lines, underground cables, and substations that keep the country powered with clean, sustainable energy. - Assessing the impact of infrastructure on land and businesses.
- Negotiating wayleaves or servitudes and ensuring best practice in land management.
- Valuation and compensation assessment, ensuring agreements are fair and balanced for all parties involved.
- Good understanding of landownership systems in Scotland, land management practices and the use of compulsory powers, ideally gained within energy networks or other relevant utilities.
- Practical knowledge of land management matters and good experience in dealing with land and property rights, including experience with wayleaves, servitudes, land acquisition and compensation principles.
- Ability to project‑manage the production of necessary wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders, and draft/implement land assembly strategy to underpin negotiations for voluntary land rights with statutory powers.
- Strong organization, forward‑thinking, and confidence managing multiple priorities.
