£50,100 - £75,100 + car allowance, performance bonus and benefits.

Role Overview

Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) Team – Safety & CDM Advisor supporting safety in design and pre‑construction safety.

Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive SHW & CDM advice to stakeholders in design/planning/pre‑construction phase.
  • Encourage development of Designer Risk Assessment with Design Risk Management processes.
  • Assist appointment duties of Client, Principal Designer and Designer to comply with CDM and Safe Systems of Work procedures; develop Pre‑Construction Information.
  • Work with project teams during pre‑construction/advanced works phase to coordinate ongoing design work during construction.
  • Complete assurance activities, incident reporting and embody healthy safe workplace, continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of project H&S aspects in electrical transmission industry and CDM regulations preferably in design/planning phase with a qualification in H&S or related discipline.
  • Experience with safety management system policies and strategies within an asset‑intensive engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques including application of ALARP.
  • Ability to determine statutory compliance and anticipate impact of new legislation; familiarity with UK regulatory environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to drive cross‑business collaboration.
