Quantity Surveyor – Balfour Beatty plc
Join our Power Commercial team as a Quantity Surveyor and help deliver complex, high-impact infrastructure projects, most notably the ASTI scheme, a major programme designed to strengthen the reliability and capacity of Scotland’s overhead line network.
We welcome applicants from any industry with experience of NEC contracts. Power sector knowledge is not essential; you’ll gain this through our structured training, on‑job learning, and ongoing professional support. If you’re commercially minded and ready to grow, we’ll help you build the expertise you need.
Location:
Flexible within Highland, Moray or Aberdeenshire.
- Collate project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities
- Manage procurement activities and maintain effective supply‑chain relationships
- Drive cost control, ensuring value for money throughout project delivery
- Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Administer contracts with clients and subcontractors in line with NEC requirements
- Support delivery of the Gated Business Lifecycle process
- Proactively pursue ongoing professional development and relevant certifications
- BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant experience
- Working towards, or current membership of, RICS, ICES or CIOB
- Experience working with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts (from any sector)
- Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills
- High level of commercial awareness with a strong customer focus
