Join the Marine team within Operations Catchment Services to support evidence‑based decisions that protect water quality across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Review and summarise technical reports for decision‑making, clearly communicating key issues to non‑technical audiences.
  • Interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection and water‑quality assessments.
  • Use data to inform water‑quality models and provide timely answers to technical questions.
  • Apply sound records‑management principles and maintain quality data assets.
  • Contribute to incident response as part of the role – taking on incident‑management duties with full training, support, and flexible arrangements.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships across the dispersed team and with external partners.
  • Use initiative to drive contributions to the team’s wider objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant marine, environmental or earth‑science discipline.
  • Experience in data analysis and modelling, preferably with software such as Mike, Cormix, R, Power BI, GIS, Excel or Access.
  • Track record of reviewing complex reports and communicating technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of water‑quality and marine environment desirable.
  • Comfortable working in a virtual team and traveling for national meetings.
  • Working toward professional membership is an advantage.
