Site Agent - Highways

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance & Company Car + Private Healthcare + Fuel Claim

About the Client:

My client is a leading civil engineering contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality services across the highways, rail, and environmental sectors. With a broad portfolio, they work with government agencies, local councils, main contractors, and private clients. From large-scale highway schemes to infrastructure projects, they have consistently demonstrated their expertise and reliability.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join the team in the Suffolk area, where you'll be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of a range of highways projects. Working alongside the General Foreman and Sub Agent, you will ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, maintaining the high standards expected by our client.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage multiple highways projects from start to finish.

Ensure compliance with company procedures, legal obligations, and best practices.

Contribute to cost planning and management for various schemes.

Work closely with the project team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of works.

Oversee the quality and standard of work carried out on site, ensuring full compliance with project specifications.

Manage and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.

The Candidate:

To be considered for the Site Agent role, you should have:

Proven experience as a Site Agent or in a similar role, specifically within highways construction.

A strong understanding of highways construction, including areas such as drainage, earthworks, site clearance, VRS (Vehicle Restraint Systems), pavements, kerbing, signage, electrical work for road lighting, and traffic systems.

A minimum of 3 years' experience managing projects within the highways or civil engineering sectors.

Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required Qualifications:

Relevant industry qualification (BEng/HND/HNC or equivalent).

SMSTS certification.

Relevant CSCS card.
