AboutThe Role
To manage and control all project document flow to ensure accurate registration, revision, resubmission and storage of all project documentation, and accurate liaison with site team, design team, subcontractors, customers, external suppliers and work-winning staff. Responsible for QA checking documents prior to submission and archiving of project documentation following project close‑out. Provide subject‑matter expertise and coaching on the use of documentation control systems to relevant teams and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities- Manage document control requirements, ensuring implementation and compliance with standards within the Business Management System (BMS).
- Identify contractual requirements related to document control.
- Maintain accurate control of documentation from pre‑construction through to completion and archiving.
- Liaise with project teams to ensure understanding of document control procedures and provide training as required.
- Implement procedures to meet BMS and other documentation and information systems requirements.
- Manage business archiving so that all documentation is stored efficiently and can always be accessed and referenced.
- Continuously improve and enhance procedures and systems used for document control.
- Provide feedback on documentation issues to design and project managers.
- Apply ISO
19650 and support the compilation of the H&S file. - Live the Balfour Beatty Values and promote Zero Harm.
- Promote the Right First Time culture throughout the company.
- Understanding of IT systems and EDMS used in document control.
- Good experience of document control.
- Good understanding of BIM.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and achieve the best outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong planning, time‑management and organisational skills.
- Experience coordinating the work of others.
