What is the opportunity?We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner to join the Ipswich or Norwich office on a permanent, full‑time basis.
Job DescriptionAs an experienced Paraplanner, you will need to demonstrate a proficient understanding of core Financial Planning solutions and have gained knowledge through exposure to client planning scenarios. You will analyse our clients' aims and needs to construct solutions as a tool for advisors to communicate to clients.
We are looking for someone who thrives in environment and is passionate about delivering high‑quality technical support to wealth managers and clients alike. You will provide guidance to other team members and be a key link between the support team and the Wealth Managers to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard for the team.
For candidates that demonstrate the right attributes, there is opportunity to grow within the role and take on additional responsibilities over time. This could include, but not limited to, people management, project work and involvement in wider group initiatives.
RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
- Prepare detailed financial plans, suitability reports, and recommendation documents for Wealth Managers.
- Support the preparation of client review and new client meetings.
- Conduct research and analysis across investments, pensions, protection, and tax planning strategies.
- Review client portfolios, ensuring recommendations align with objectives, risk tolerance, and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with Wealth Managers, Administrators, and product providers to ensure the smooth delivery of advice and implementation.
- Maintain accurate client records and support the ongoing development of advice processes.
- You will have attained CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent as a minimum
- Previous experience as a Paraplanner.
- Strong understanding of financial planning principles, tax wrappers, pensions, and investments.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Confident using financial planning software.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience of, or a desire to, develop leadership and management skills.
