Role Overview

The school is looking for a dedicated Premises Manager who takes pride in delivering excellence across all site operations. You will be responsible for the daily management of the school buildings grounds maintenance programme facilities development and health & safety compliance. This role will suit someone highly organised hands‑on and capable of leading a small team to ensure the school site is maintained to the highest possible standard.

What

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Overseeing all site operations including security maintenance compliance checks and daily opening/closing.
  • Managing a team of caretakers and cleaners ensuring high standards across the school estate.
  • Leading planned and reactive maintenance across multiple buildings ensuring swift response to issues.
  • Ensuring full Health & Safety compliance including risk assessments statutory checks COSHH fire systems and safeguarding protocols.
  • Managing external contractors reviewing contracts supervising works and ensuring service‑level agreements are met.
  • Working closely with the Bursar SLT and Head of Operations to plan long‑term site development and refurbishment projects.
  • Overseeing the upkeep of sports facilities specialist rooms heritage buildings and landscaped grounds.
  • Managing budgets effectively sourcing cost‑efficient materials and ensuring value for money without compromising quality.
  • Acting as the face of the facilities team ensuring efficient communication with staff parents and external partners.

Experience & Qualifications Required
  • Strong background in site management / facilities management / estates operations
  • Proven experience managing maintenance staff or contractors
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance frameworks and risk assessments
  • Ability to manage budgets prioritise workload and oversee projects

    Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills
  • DBS required (or willingness to undergo one)
